Planning for the Future

In April, the theme is Spring Forward: Planning for the Future. Dr. Zakia Greene will advise on strategies and key factors for career success and describe her journey to become a person of influence within the federal government. We'll learn about Dr. Wu Chien-Shiung, a legendary physicist and advocate for women's education, and we'll hear more reflections about February's BEYA STEM DTX Conference from our student ambassadors.

Topics Covered by Speaker

Dr. Zakia Greene will cover a wide range of topics, including pharmacology, federal careers, life planning, and the contributions of women in physics. Additionally, they will share reflections from the BEYA (Becoming Everything You Are) STEM DTX™ conference.

STEM Inventor of the Month

Dr. Wu Chien-Shiung, known as the "First Lady of Physics," and the "Queen of Nuclear Research" was a Chinese-American physicist who made groundbreaking contributions to nuclear and particle physics. She worked on the Manhattan Project and is best known for the Wu experiment, which disproved the principle of parity conservation in weak interactions. Despite her significant achievements, she was overlooked for the Nobel Prize in 1957. Her legacy continues to inspire scientists worldwide.
