Veterans

Stars and Stripes has several avenues of service to support veterans in their current vocation and/or to connect active duty and retired veterans with corporations and industry leaders who are eager to hire them.  

Veterans ourselves, Stars and Stripes recognizes the value of military training and experience to assist organizations looking for talent in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related careers.

Programs

There are three avenues of engagement/service available to veterans:

1. Participate in the Stars and Stripes Government/Military Track (Available to veterans E-4 to O-8)
   During the BEYA STEM DTX Conference veterans can receive continuing education credits, professional development credit, and learn from world class thought leaders by participating in the BEYA/Government track.

2. Career Fair/Transition Support Training/Seminars (Available to veterans E-4 to O-6)
   Stars and Stripes Committee works with major Fortune 500 corporations, government agencies, and leading nonprofit organizations to provide HR support, direct hiring, and networking opportunities to veterans attending the BEYA STEM DTX Conference. 
   
   This training has been supported with best practices from veteran executives from The Boeing Company, American Express, Naval Sea Systems Command, and others.
   
   Over 50 companies are participating in the career fair and veterans will receive access to all career fair floor opportunities.
   

    
3. BEYA Stars and Stripes Capstone Program (Available to active duty/retired Flag/SES leaders)
   BEYA Capstone is a senior executive opportunity for select few senior military officers to connect with c-suite executives from academia, nonprofit corporations, and Fortune 500 leaders from organizations to discuss best practices, differences/similarities in leading large organizations, and to get a “glass door” look at the day-to-day leadership challenges in entities outside of DoD.
